Mushrooms Are A Nice Treat...

Hello Friend or Visitor,
The World of Mushrooms... It Is Possible To Consider Mushrooms As Being One Of Those Things That Happen In An Endless Array Of Varieties.
Even When Of The Same Kind, Nearly Every Mushroom Will Offer Some Difference To Enthral The Eyes And For Many, To Bring Out Their Cameras To Record The Scenic View Mushrooms Create Where Ever They Choose To Emerge To Delight.....

Mushrooms can be eaten, used medicinally, dried for later use, and even take one on Inner-Journeys that just may not be the best of ways to indulge in for an Inner-Journey, but, I have read, are used in that way by some Traditional Shamans who know how to. Exception possibly is Alice, from Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland'. Then of course, there are the Fairy Tale Scenes of Nature, where so often is depicted beautifully illustrated magical ethereal Mushrooms.
Sadly, some Folk have allergic reactions to Mushrooms, may my photos of them not cause such a response for you.

Did you know Lewis Carroll is the pseudonym Charles Lutwidge Dodgson used as being the Author of his Books?
I didn't until I looked up 'Alice In Wonderland's Author so I'd spell Carroll correctly.

My Friend Laura from http://forestwalkart.blogspot.com/ has wondrous Mushrooms emerge where she lives, and we who visit, are always awed by the variety of Mushroom photos Laura Posts with the accompanying, more often than not, amusing way Laura describes them.
With pleasure and permission, I invite you to visit one of Laura's amazing Mushy Posts by clicking on... 'Mushroom Maniac' ... I can assure you, the trip is worth it.

But to now invite you to take a Visual Journey with my wondrous times with Mushrooms. I'll begin first with an image I have loved since I first saw it appear on my phone.
With a little help from Windows photo editing, I was able to lift away the darkness and reveal what to me is a Mushroom at the base of a Tree, amid Leaf matter and Plant growth, during February 2009 at about 7.30 in the morning, who had created a beautiful Life Scene....

I'd had the photo printed as an enlargement at the time. It turned out awful. No computer then, but now that I have, and have been able touch it up a little, the results are for me so pleasing, I think I will try again in time.

There are more Mushroom photos, just....

When I leave my Rental Home for Town, there's a stretch of Footpath Lawn, where almost in exactly the same spot, out in the open, will grow a huge Mushroom. Usually only one, though occasionally, as did in the following photo, a tiny one will emerge beside the large one. The photo session occurred during March of 2009 at about 10am, the first month of Autumn for me....

On the left, near 8 o'clock, of that rather perfect circular Mushroom's top, you can see a hint of the tiny Mushy Companion.
In the next photo, is it's cute little self right beside, and outside the amazing large Companion Mushy's canopy....

Next is the underside of the beautifully, proud, elegant Mushroom....

The red glow you can see, is the effect from the Sun's Morning Light filtering through.

Almost a month later, about the same time of morning... one magnificent Mushroom has become possibly more beautiful....

The scattering of speckles on the Grass are not dew, I presumed they were the beginnings of shed spores adhering to Grass Blades.

Staying in April and mid-Autumn for me, while having a wander in my Scrub area around 4pm, the late Sun's Light, filtering through the Trees onto fallen Timber gave the next photo with Mushrooms....

Then, during the same month, at about 5pm, out in the yard, out in the open, all by its self, in a state of irreparable disarray....

Still in April 2009, still in mid-Autumn for me, the time is near 1pm... the not too good time for doing photos, but part of the time I find quite perfect for the Sun's high position to radiate beautiful Light through a Tree's Leafy Canopy... and we are at Madill Park to experience some rather lovely Mushrooms happening....

Still at Madill Park, only now we move into June 2009, and the first part of Winter for me, the time is nearly 5pm, the Sun's Light is not very giving on the occasion with concentrating on becoming Dawn for the Northern Hemisphere at the time, but the Mushrooms were lovely. Though the pictures have not great clarity, the Scenes they created, I feel, are too nice not to share. Imagination can help....

The same Mushrooms amid their Moist Earthy Terrain...

And then from underneath with an Ant checking out the Scene....

The Ant is almost in the centre between the two Mushrooms and their outer edges, just incase you didn't notice her/him. Plus, the photos look heaps better than I thought they would. Am truly very pleased. Such a compliment to one's efforts.

Zane from htt://zanephotoblog.blogspot.com/ has beautiful Camera equipment, especially in lenses for Macro photography. I've had the pleasure of seeing Ants in such detail that it seems, like Spiders, they may also have eyes, on top but towards the back of their heads.
I picked with permission one of Zane's Posts showing 'bugs making water-bubbles' (active link), because the first image shows you what I described about an Ant's eyes, plus other interesting bugs making bubbles.

Leaving the Park and returning to my Scrub area, to arrive in January 2010 and mid-Summer for me, at about 8.30am, I had come across the next beautiful presentation amid Leaf Matter from another rather large Mushroom...

My then 'Viewty' phone's negative setting did the following rendition of the same Mushroom amid its Leafy Setting....

Well I do hope you have enjoyed sharing my Journey with Mushrooms. I know I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing them appear, looking, from my perspective, artistic and lovely.

  5. Hi Magda I have just had a lovely browse around your blog.

re Mallory I live not too far from Mobberley and am well aware of him.
I posted a few months ago about Chester Cathedral and there is a window commemorating him there.
I have known about it for years and I always ask the guides were it is when I visi...they never know lol.

I was amazed at the coincidence of this post about Charles Dodgson whos birthplace happens to be about the same distance from my house as Mobberley but in the oposite direction...again I have posted about him.

Email me @ agfulton@btinternet.com and I will send links to both posts.

  7. I think it's wonderful that you can watch mushrooms mature. Even though they are not supposed to on public land, people pick them and take them home.

    I enjoyed this post!

  11. I almost don't know how to begin here.... simply seeing the gift of input from so many is quite an awesome experience itself... but I do apologise for being so late in responding...

LAURA my wonderful Friend so many rewarding encouraging words... and I too did the Mushy thing... very interesting it was too... and it is always a pleasure to have a reason to mention you whenever I Post. Love your visits Laura... always a surprise and a boost reading what you write, thanks.

Thank you SUSAN... I did enjoy putting this Post together. The hardest part was which Mushy to choose and then how stop choosing. Am really pleased you have enjoyed the Journey... and I'm so glad I didn't discard the spore shedding Mushy before having a computer to actually see what those dots were. Will be lovely to see you again when you're back from your Holiday Adventure.

NICK what you do with Flowers you photograph gives a whole new meaning to the beauty of Flowers, I'm glad my words read fine.
Pleased my sharpening efforts in editing deserve approval.
Quite amazes me what a little added contrast, a little less highlight and a gentle dose of sharpening does to bring out the best of the subject my phone has photographed most times.
Oh Nick, to not have places to discover Mushrooms... I think I would feel a huge void without them happening about me... but you do have wonderful Flowers you do beautiful artistry to... hope one day you do find Mushies, will be intriguing to see your artistic results with them. Thanks for visiting.

Yes GARY and BOOMER, Mushrooms are one of the greatest gifts Nature enthrals with, and it's those odd places they happen which sets them amid fascinating backgrounds for photography... well any form of Art really I feel. Appreciate very much you stopping by Gary(and Boomer).

ANDREW your wonderful site for Touring your region is great fun... and I think I am going to need to email you now for those links, so much time has passed since this event and you have shared even more interesting events and happenings... I think I need directions to find my way a little easier... appreciate the invitation.
And that is so nice of you to have wandered about my Blog... Thank you heaps for doing that.

  12. Have just discovered one can only use 4096 characters in a note left in the comments spot...
I was way over... so here's part 2...

Gosh NATURE FOOTSTEP I'm so late with responding here, it will not be Mushroom time in Sweden now I'm sure... but with how the days and months seem to be passing faster, it will soon be September again... and I've put an alarm note in my phone to remind me when September arrives in 2012 it will be Mushroom time in Sweden..
The only credit I can have for the Fairy is in choosing it NatureFootstep, but I do agree, someone on Earth did beautiful artwork, and it felt just right to introduce the Mushrooms' Stories.
Appreciate you've stopped by NatureFootstep, will be nice to visit you again.

That is an interesting Comment EG WOW... I find it quite curious that Mushrooms are not allowed to be gathered when happening on Public Land... really curious.
Late as I am with this response, I am going to remember to ask you why... thanks for stopping by and also for arousing my curiosity.

Hello RED... I think I'll reserve my response and simply fully agree with you... I've never not seen Alice enjoy her time into Mushroom Mania...
Mushrooms I agree deserve respect, and am pleased and proud to write they have my vote.. wonderful you stopping by Red.. you are such a boost for the beauty Australia is.

KALYAN... your name looks lovely... the actual pronunciation I wish I could hear... Thank you for visiting and contributing... appreciate so much you like the images.

HANNAH thank you, thoroughly pleased you like what you've experienced... I feel deeply complimented by your words, knowing how captivating the results are after your artistic rendering of a photo. It was lovely visiting you Hannah.

Thanks so much for this wonderful experience. Each of you have given us a special gift with your input... I looked at the date of this Posting... 20 Sept 2011... 1month previously my 15yr old Doberman Felicity's time was over... and 2 days after this Posting my beautiful 14yr old Gander Henry died. His death emotionally shook me and his buddy Nicholas badly.
It is now Jan 2012... 4months later, much inner healing has happened. But by having responded even this late to what you have each given, I am deeply warmed to be experiencing so much from each of you. This has been a beautiful gift simply waiting for me to see.
To each of you... THANK YOU
