Welcome To My Journey
With Madill Park Visiting Reader....
A Place I Like To Visit
The photos presented in this giving actually date back to 20 December 2010. They were part of a day of Sunshine the December Rain gave while it had a Holiday. I had intended Posting these then, but instead are happening now.
What prevented that happening was decided when I saw the photos on my computer. Seemed Vivaz phone had decided it had done a good days work. The new location was surveyed, had noted the Sun was moving towards setting, felt the scenes it was presented with to record inviting, and simply decided the timing to be just right to let its pixels loose and be creative.
I really don't know how else to describe what Vivaz gave that afternoon. From a technical point of view there's nothing to see. But gosh, I see the results as creative..... I hope you experience a phone's decision to simply be creative with what it was shown to photograph pleasing.
The scenes are from a Park near where I live. I drive past it to and from town. Along two of the Park's sides are Main Roads, and it is also located near a Highway. In general the Park is a quiet place to go. Though traffic is near, the sound dims when wandering about or just sitting within the Park's realm. There is a specialness felt there. A quiet peaceful energy that also holds lots of natural activity. I've only ever seen folk relax when I've visited and other people are there. It is a place I've never noticed become busy.
The Mary River in flood will reach the Park from across one of the main roads via an underground channel and also from the neighbouring dam/lake. I presume it is what is called 'Spring Fed'. The Mary's flow course being not too far away, would in flood times be filling underground channels, and also overfilling the neighbouring dam/lake, enabling it to spill and spread its excess.
The Mary's waters filling the Park in the following photos is mild. Like the Bridge was on that day in the Post I did under the Label - Gympie, and titled - "Heavy Rain Wake". I have seen the Park as only one huge lake, with the waters reaching way out to the road. Even then one could feel the serenity of the Park's presence, though mostly invisible with being under water, except for the tops of Trees.
May the photos not be a disappointment for you. They are for me not quite as magical uploaded as I saw directly on my computer. Felt very indecisive about Posting them. For now here they are.....
I decided to be brave, bypass my unsureness, and let them be viewed in a large way. I can only hope you have not found the experience jarring. In essence I feel they are lovely. Vivaz did well, even if not crisply.
Part 2 follows. Though due to way Postings present, Part 2 will appear to be first.
Either way, each tells the Story differently, so are also independent.

...ooooh, i'm so far behind here...and trying to catch up...trying to visit all over the world this morning!
ReplyDeletei have heard on the news of the flooding in Australia. although i don't watch the TV THAT much...i'm not sure just how bad it is!!
your pictures are beautiful to look at...but when the water gets so bad that people's lives and livelihood are threatened...it can surely take away from some of the beauty.
Happy New Year! laurak :]
Thanks for stopping by LauraK,
DeleteYour visits are always welcomed.
Am relieved the photos look fine. The flooding is bad. My area is now in the throes of it. Whole experience is exhausting. Horrible for those who've lost everything. Dreadful for Farmers seeing their Cattle, especially the Calves being swept away by rushing flood waters. Areas further North where the flooding is receding, the clean up and visual reality has begun. Black Hawk helicopters are being used to rescue animals that were trapped. Folk are pitching in to help others. Locally it's our turn to cope and wait for the results. Flood waters have begun moving South into New South Wales. The rain refuses to ease up on its constancy. Almost daily for nearly 2mths so far.
In one sense my photos may seem like a mockery to present events, then in another, if they can give a moment's reminder of something beautiful, then my decision to go ahead with their Posting just may do something worthwhile. I hope so, because your well expressed thoughts for this Posting now has me hesitating about removing it.
Successful catching up World Tour LauraK, from Magda with thanks
