Something A Little Different

Welcome Visiting Reader To My Effort To Do Something a Little Different Amid This Present Time Of Challenges Occurring Nearly All Over Australia....

Rain was at it again as I prepared this giving on 8 Jan 2011.
Queensland's town of Gympie I'm near is not doing too well from the input.
Local Bridge (Gympie 21 Dec 2010 "Heavy Rain Wake") is definitely under this time. (Title active link to Story).
Neighbouring Bridge (Other Places and Topics - Dec 2010 "And The Rain Continued...") further North from me went under again also. (Title active link to Story).
Park near me (Gympie 9th & 10th Jan 2011 "Flood Waters and a Park", Parts 1 & Part 2 ) nearly fully dunked too. (Wording.. Part 1, Part 2, are active links to their respective Stories).
Has become a depressing subject. Property and Animal loss increasing. Then of course there are those silly folk who just have to venture into rushing flood waters and either drown, or, time has to be wasted rescuing them. Has been good to hear they are being charged and fined for their wilful recklessness.

I have lived in a few different areas between Hervey Bay and Brisbane in Queensland since the mid 1970's. In that time have never experienced this amount of Rain. Has become ridiculous. Nearly two months of consistent wet. Heavy downpours repeatedly too. The resulting damage renders one numb.

One thing with preparing ideas for Postings is by the time one Posts... as in this instance... many things can change.....
Like for instance it is now 22 January 2011... two weeks have passed. In that two weeks my area of Gympie Queensland became an Island. We are recovering from that with minimum damage and loss.
Further South in the Toowoomba area of Queensland the floods reached there with horrendous impact.
At the time of this Posting much of Victoria (Southern end of Eastern Australia) is flooding. While in Western Australia the Southern region is struggling with Bush Fires and the Northern area is struggling with Floods. Mind you, to my awareness at this time, the middle of Australia is still its natural arid self.
Australia is experiencing extraordinary times. Everything inhabiting Australia is experiencing the results whether it be severely or mildly or not at all. One thing seems certain... Nature in Australia is having a full on clean up session.

With having given the weather update, I'll shift mood and introduce the Subject I've chosen for doing something with a different focus....
In having for the first time a computer to explore and experience since August 2010, one of the main joys is being able to sort and file through the many photos given by my previous two phones. Each resulting filed achievement fully makes up for the marathon effort involved. It's a slow tedious laborious process. Once completed, any new photos will be a simple process. It's the getting to that time, which of course will happen as I persevere.

The following photos I've chosen for this giving to share with you are from Viewty, a 5 megapixel phone by Lg.....

The two you have just browsed happened during February 2009. They are both sides of the Home Some Being made amid the Camphor Laurel Leaves. Never found out who built and lived in that Home, but the effect I felt was and still is beautiful.

The one above and below were done during April 2009. Early mornings are always a treat. The second of each is cropped to bring the wonderful Grasshopper into closer focus. Became aware of Grasshopper as I began up my back steps. I was thrilled the Grasshopper stayed and let me attempt the photo doings. Watched me too which was fun.

I at first was surprised when saw the one above of Grasshopper. Nearly rejected it because the back steps aren't purplish... they're timber. Once I overcame Reality I loved the Fantasy Effect. Cropped accentuates the concept. The Plant and its Flowers look wonderful I feel. Grasshopper almost looks surreal. Profound what stepping to other side to do the photo brought about. Early Morning Sun was facing me from this angle as I crouched and leaned into the Plant to do Grasshopper front on.

I fluked the doing of the above two during February 2009. I'd been concentrating on photographing my Neighbour's Bromeliads when I saw the Snail. I ended up leaning on an angle, kinda sideways, kinda forward, crouched, and trying not to fall into all the prickly things and hold Viewty phone still enough to hopefully succeed in photographing the Snail. Another Fantasy result, not very clear, but gosh, what the heck, one can identify it's a Snail and that matters. I personally love the outcome, the having of them, and the now sharing of them with you. You can see behind the Snail in both photos its mucous trail.

Thank you for stopping by and experiencing my Photos and Words. May the Photos and Subject Matter have been as pleasurable for you as the having them to share is for me.
