In Remembrance of 9/11 2001....

Thank You For Stopping By To Share With Me A Moment Or More In Remembering the Horrendous Murder Of Nearly 3000 Lives On That Clear Blue Sky Morning Of Tuesday, 11 September 2001 In New York City Between 8.46 and 10.28am.

I doubt there are many who do not remember.
I am in Australia, I was one of the many whose Television was on when the First World Trade Centre Tower was hit. I saw the second plane approaching, as a Friend sat beside me saying... "Magda, that is really happening!". I could see the second plane was heading for the other World Trade Centre Tower, while on the Ground confusion was gathering but still not registering where that second plane was heading to.... and then it struck... and all the reality of the horror happening truly began registering and taking hold amid the confusion on the Ground.

A few years later I learnt another Event had been simultaneously coming together on that tragic morning. An assembly was gathering in preparation, to establish with the United Nations, to have that very day recognised as the International Date for Peace One Day. A movement founded by Jeremy Gilley.
On the very morning, at the very same time, a Day of Peace was readying to be acknowledged.... but events ensured... the concept of and practical doing of, A Day Of No Violence being recognised for all about our Earth to think about actively applying would be resisted and defied.
Those gathered, excited, pleased, saw their goal nearly achieved being shredded. One by one Lives had their Life's Light extinguished by the merciless impact from those planes now wedged and burning in the two World Trade Centres' Towers, and Lives continued being extinguished all through the numbing experience being witnessed as eventually the Towers, like a concertina, became a heap of rubble on the Ground with over 2000 Lives no longer shining brightly, and about 6000 confused, injured, and trapped in it all.

        But...
Amid the resulting carnage, the shattered emotions of those having witnessed the horror unfolding, the everyday remembering for those without loved ones, or still damaged because of that day....
        Those against Peace also failed...
A day recognised internationally as a day of no violence globally did still happen....
the date changing to 21st September... established that very month, in that very year - 2001.
I had seen a Documentary on Jeremy Gilley and his efforts to create a day of Global Peace, and listened as he retold what he saw on that Tuesday morning of 11 September 2011 while waiting outside the United Nations Hall of Assembly Building.
My mind found it so hard to absorb.... my mind kept spinning, taking in the information that the very day a Day of Peace would be declared... was also a day when the very concept of Peace was being devastatingly destroyed....
It took the suicidal power of a few to ruin the living power of many... horrible.

I quote Jeremy Gilley's words...
"By working together there will be Peace One Day"

May that be the way and the truth and may Peace happen sooner than later.

Thank you,
May what we have given here this day be found acceptable.

  1. I have to say, I had never heard of Jeremy Gilley. I looked at his website and watched a video of him speaking at a TED conference. Very inspirational.

    Peace.

  3. yes, it was a horrific day...one that has stuck in our hearts and minds. and throughout all the tragedy...and loss...the fact that people 'came together'...helping and supporting each other...just goes to prove that there really IS so much goodness within, and around...us. hopefully...some day...all people will SEE the goodness...and stop their senseless killing and destruction.

there WILL be peace one day...it just HAS TO happen, doesn't it??!!

    beautiful post...

  4. Hello Lovely LAURA,
I believe still, that there will be Peace One Day, and that the Peace of One Day will be a Peace that flows into Every Day.

Since having seen Jeremy Gilley's Peace One Day Documentary years ago, and now learning what I have to be able to include with this 9/11 Remembrance... my heart strengthens.

With my Ancestry flowing throughout who I am, is also the shredded remnants of feelings and memories of the more than 6million Lives whose Lights were extinguished during WWII...

But did such murdering Leaders stop there... no ...

the Murdering Soul of One was still able to influence a minority to exercise their desire to commit horrors on the many -

Kmer Rouge - Pol Pot's reign of terror in Cambodia between 1975 & 1979 extinguished, it is estimated, possibly more than 2million Living Lights.

Idi Amin in Uganda during 1971-1979
successfully influenced about 500thousand Living Lights to be brutally extinguished.

I may have only mentioned 2 other Regimes of Terror... Kosovo's tragedy is another in recent History...

But Leaders who embrace the Path of Murder as the way to Lead, and those enjoying exercising Murder, as the means to prove they have Power, are too me quite stupid...

    Their way is about Killing...
they have not the intelligence to realise that if they succeeded in their killing-spree...
all that would remain to satisfy their lust to kill would be each other, and lastly themselves.

Just like 9/11... Hitler, Pol Pot, Idi Amin and others... the reason for mass human slaughter is simply, (writes me), because each exercised their lust to kill under the guise of they did not like what someone else is, and were able to instil sufficient hatred and fear into followers who would then carry out and include their own Fears and Hatreds into their Torturous Mass Murders to ensure the Earth would be cleansed of everyone other than themselves.

They fool themselves with such thinking, I believe, their thoughts are simply a lust to kill... nothing to do with living Sacredly.

I feel to believe Peace is possible is truly important... and an energy necessary to generate in every breath we each breathe while we do everything we do...

I also believe if there weren't those doing that, I doubt if even today those Regimes would have been stopped, and that the outcome of all 4 Planes on that 9/11 would have been as tragic instead of only 2... without disregarding the courage and also the Lives murdered with the other Planes.

Laura thank you immensely for your support also for my 9/11 Remembrance... I am an outsider to the tragedy... but I feel it in my way.

Peace to all whose Light no longer shines Physically on this Earth because of a few... be free...
and may all of us who remain find the strength within to Walk with Peace instead of Anger.

Forgive me if I've expressed too much and inadequately.

Hugs Laura, from your Friend Magda
