Happy 2nd Birthday Suzanna and Victoria....
Welcome,
Thank You For Coming,
I hope you enjoy your time here while meeting my, to me, Beautiful Hens, Suzanna and Victoria.
I'm sharing with you our Story in photos of their Journey to reaching this 2nd celebratory year together.
Both of these beautiful girls have now passed.
Suzanna in October 2011 and Victoria towards the end of 2012.
I deeply miss them.
I am quite serious about this being a Birthday Celebration in photos for Suzanna and Victoria, as that is really how I will have to discipline my self to present this Story for my Hens 2nd Birthday.
Though I had done some research about the History of Hens, which I thought might be nice to include, I soon discovered would really will not be very practical with the quantity of photos I finally managed limiting myself to.
The original collection I stared and laughed at... then came the elimination process and deciding how to focus this presentation.
Finally, with probably still too many photos, Suzanna's and Victoria's 2nd Birthday is focused on our first twelve months together... Whew!
At the end of July 2011, I had a long night with Victoria Hen, which thankfully she got through, is still doing well and is very much her beautiful self again.
I was exhausted and relief filled before first light of that day, came here and discovered two very special Bloggers had left Comments on a new Post I had done, and I had a new Member, which I discovered is a local Friend.
I felt emotionally awed... to me, three special People, in their own way, without knowing, chose a time to Visit and give, when their input was Energy I really believe helped.
I expressed as much in my responses.
Cindy from http://bugsafari.blogspot.com/ and http://mythingsnstuff.blogspot.com/ asked if I had done a Posting about Victoria, so the first two photos of Victoria, done in January 2011, are especially for you Cindy.
With thanks extended to my Friends Laura from http://forestwalkart.blogspot.com/ and miawebb13 my new Member.
I truly believe I am not including an obituary for Victoria's 2nd Birthday because of the added support that came our way from each of you.
Well, I wondered which of the following to choose... hopelessly unable to decide I'm presenting both...
Victoria at 1year 5months, on 4 January 2011 is first...
And on 17 January 2011, when not quite impressed by my effort to photograph her while she was preparing for bed....
If you would like to meet Suzanna also, and celebrate with me the mainly first 12months of their Journey in photos....
The photos, generally, will not be great in quality, clicking to see larger will show they look more like having been painted with a brush, but their content I think you'll find are special.
Every photo is connected to Stories which I'm disciplining my self to omit. Infact... my whole Hen Journey is a Story, but must wait for other times....
Beginning with 6 August 2009....
Suzanna being 1week 1day....
Victoria (left) and Suzanna together....
Clothes-basket, blankets, a hot-water-bottle and Sleeping Next to me, with morning Sun in Betsy, my car, is how we did the beginning.
CINDY HAS GIVEN SUZANNA AND ME AND MY BEAUTIFUL CRITTER FAMILY A SPECIAL GIFT (click on this word 'GIFT' to see)
On 15 August 2009....
Victoria (left ) and Suzanna being 2weeks 3days...
They loved using the blanket as a hammock to bounce on.
The next two are on 26 August 2009, we had a portable pen for outside time by then....
Suzanna and Victoria (right) being 4weeks....
The following day, 27 August 2009, their first exploration outside the confines of the pen occur... and my Gander Nicholas, 16yrs at the time, decides they need supervision....
Victoria is in the foreground.
In the background is my other Gander Henry (about 12yrs then), fully disinterested he remained with these new members to our Family.
How tiny Suzanna (left) and Victoria look amid open ground....
Short explore, and back to more secure confines....
Victoria is out, Suzanna is in. My tolerant of me car Betsy is visible too, and the Land does slope, hence odd angles happen.
Two months later 7 October 2009, Suzanna (left) and Victoria are 10wks and out and about exploring for longer periods over wider spaces.....
And I felt amazed by their legs turning quite orangey in colour as they grew....
Victoria is on the left....
They blend beautifully with Spring's colour tones.
One month later, 20 November 2009, being nearly 4months, Suzanna and Victoria have begun leaving babyhood and are emerging into Hen Teenagers...
Suzanna.....
Victoria....
In early December 2009, when about 4.5mths, first eggs had occurred...
Flourishing Teenagers they fully are....
Suzanna is on the left....
The final photo was done early January 2011. They were almost asleep, each taking turns, one watching while one snoozed....
Fully fledged Hens are Suzanna (left) and Victoria at 1yr 5mths. Fully beautiful. I'm fully privileged by their company....
Happy Birthday my beautiful Girls... I love you both.
Do forgive I've done nearly all the photos in the x-large form... I hope what is missing in image quality is compensated by the content.
Sometimes spacing isn't as I'd like to achieve... but what I can't resolve I have to accept. I think when I've cropped a photo, alters the way it is accepted here, especially when are in essence different sizes.
Thank you for sharing Suzanna's and Victoria's 2nd Birthday with me and them.
All the Stories that go with the photos... sitting like a frown in my mind... another time I'll do Words and less photos or simply do two Posts... that would have solved it... but I've done the Celebration this way instead.

The first two photos and last one are done with my 8megapixel Sony Ericsson phone "Vivaz". The other photos are with my 5megapixel Lg phone "Viewty".
Good wishes to you from
Magda, Suzanna and Victoria
Also, both Ganders mentioned in this Story have passed...
Henry in October 2011, he was about 14 at the time.
Nicholas in January 2012, he was 18.
I still love them, am thankful to them, and miss them

Hi Magda
ReplyDeleteI so wish I had a hen house with chooks...one say soon I hope~!
Hope life is treating you well.
Hugs
Kimmie and Heartpoet
Thanks for sharing in Suzanna's and Victoria's 2nd Birthday KIMMIE,
DeleteWhen the day arrives for you having Hens, I recommend intensely you look into finding someone with Natural Hens.
Commercial Hens, like my Girls, available through Produce Stores, for example, have been interfered with. And unless you are willing to go through the emotional upheaval to simply give such Hens all the love and care you can muster for them, you have to be prepared that within 2yrs problems will usually begin, and more likely than not will be dead in less than 3yrs.
Commercial Hens have been designed to last about 2yrs, laying daily, then killed and replaced, or due to the problems will die anyway.
Though I have Hen Stories to share, in short, I'm hoping with having begun with Chicks this time I can defeat what was done... though Victoria has begun showing the signs... hence our first recent all night vigil... now all I can do is persevere as I have done in the past with the grown Hens that happened my way with some success.
In general, Life and me are getting along okay... has been challenging for me with being so cold this Winter. Will be by to Visit soon, and simply spend some time browsing and reading... I'm not as good as I feel I should with my Visits... but I will improve.
Hugs to you and Heartpoet too, ones filled with good wishes, love, friendship and appreciation, from Magda.
Aww, how cute they were when they were chicks. In the pictures of them on the blanket, they seem to be looking at you like they know you're their mama. Especially the one of Suzanna looking right up at the camera. Even though she's a little out of focus, she looks so precious.
ReplyDeleteI also like the next to last photo, where Victoria seems to be snuggling her head up against her sister.
Happy Birthday, girls!
:D
Again CINDY my heartfelt thanks to you... Suzanna & Victoria were a wonderful experience as Chicks, and fully interesting growing into adults, and are always loving.
DeleteSilly isn't it... Viewty put just about everything else in focus, especially Suzanna's feet, but blurred her face! The photo though, I agree, is just too precious, to have not included or to have discarded as a mishap.
Most of the photos are really just for oohing at in the Family Memories Album, but oh heck... you and the other Folk who come here and give to me are to me special, so to share something personally meaningful for me with you is, well, my way of sharing something personal.
The one with Victoria snuggling into Suzanna is meaningful... Victoria had laid her first egg... Suzanna had already begun a few days prior, so already a bit seasoned.
We had quite a time sorting out where to lay other than my car Betsy... the whole process was a bit dramatic to begin with, until I sat and read Picture Book Stories to them while they waited for the Egg to emerge and could look at the pictures while I read.
When I found them going to lay where provided without me, I knew I was no longer needed, verified by both actually complaining if I sat and began reading.
Another step towards them being independent.
Cindy, thanks deeply for being part of their 2nd Birthday Celebration, hugs to you from Magda, Suzanna and Victoria (they give beautiful hugs, and we still do our bedtime ritual of cuddles every night) xxx
Happy Birthday to your 2 special girls!!
ReplyDeletethanks for the journey from the very start!! they were so CUTE and looked so adorable on the blanket when they were just little chicks. watching them grow...into teenagers...curious of their world!
i was pretty surprised when i read that Nicholas was 16 years in that one picture! wow!! then, thinking about it...didn't you do a posting for him too??
i just LOVE the picture where Victoria is nuzzling up to Suzanna!!
thanks for sharing your family with us Magda!! and you can pass along a few hugs & snuggles from me!!
I can be slow sometimes treasured LAURA...
Deleteand I have told and given them an interpretation of your wonderful good Birthday wishes hugs and snuggles...
Victoria often has much to say.. I groan and apologise to her for not better understanding Hen Lingo... but encourage her to continue telling her Story when she stops and looks at me...
on this occasion I was given an extra snuzzle from her as she continued her Story... so I'd say she has given me one to send to you with heaps of words included... I just can't quite interpret them for you, but am sure it is a Thank You, cause she was satisfied and went to do other things when I said I would tell you.
Yep, did a Posting for Henry and Nicholas on 16 March 2011... listed it in small print at end of this Story with an active connection, amid the other Family Postings listed I've done so far.
Thank you Laura, appreciate heaps you've enjoyed being part of Suzanna's and Victoria's 2nd Birthday... your Gift is an appreciated pleasure,
with love from your Friend Magda and also from Suzanna and Victoria
Hopefully you haven't received my responses again. Apologies if does happen. I've changed my Comment form to the Embedded version. I like the option to directly reply to someone who has left their input, feels more personal. Then me being me, is now working my way through my Posts to re-place my responses into the Reply section. So some copying, pasting and deleting is happening.
