Welcome to My Journey with Valentine's Day Visiting Reader.....
Am quite unsure about this Valentine's Day concept after reading how it started. Then felt even less sure when travelling a Time Line of Events relative to this date in General History. To my way of thinking there really wasn't anything I read accentuating the concept of Romanticism.
Yet in being a day where many around the Earth are focused on the idea of Romance and Love is maybe the key. It's possibly a day being prepared for and then being experienced with thoughts and actions generating a lot of Loving Energy into the atmosphere. That has to be a good thing I'm sure.
With having reached that Thought Path, contributing to Loving Energy being generated into the atmosphere feels to be a good thing to be doing.
These following photo were done on 3 Nov 2009. The phone I had then I called 'Blacky'. A flip top Lg VGA, with probably about 1 megapixel. Yet, Blacky more times did than didn't surprise me with some really lovely photos.....
In Greek Mythology the Red Rose represents passionate desire. The concept stems from the Story of Aphrodite spilling Blood onto a White Rose in an attempt to help her wounded Lover Adonis.
In Christianity the Red Rose is a symbol of Jesus' Blood and the suffering He endured during His Crucifixion.
In Persia there is a Superstition suggesting that if petals fall from a Red Rose cut from an English Garden it is a sign'bad luck'.
During the 18th Century, Lovers forced to keep their feelings for one another a secret used a Red Rose to communicate their love to each other.
There would be many more such Stories... and each would probably hold that essence of sadness within them. Seems to be the way of Stories travelling through History.
The Red Rose has different meanings depending on shade and quantity, which I won't follow through with the telling now. Instead I'll focus on the Deep Red and Burgundy toned Red Roses. I have a Personal Story linked to such a Rose variety which I'll tell another time.
The Deep Red and Burgundy variety of Red Roses signifies an unconscious beauty that is pure and genuine. Also represents the showing of respect and deep admiration.
In general Red Roses portray beauty and passion. Courage and power. Congratulations for a job well done. Expressing appreciation and respect. Showing a sincere love. Celebrating the creative spirit of love.
Within Marriage Red Roses express domestic paradise that is also passionate as well as abiding. A love that is forever growing in strength and away from monotony.
I may have written only a little relating to Valentine's Day... but I really am not sure I could have written as warmly if I had. So instead I do hope you enjoyed a Journey with Red Roses to acknowledge a day looked upon as a day to celebrate Love.
Has been enlightening for me, and brought into the present the memory I have of my first encounter with an exquisite, aromatic, velvet, dark dark Red Rose. Have never met another like it since.
With bestest good wishes to you, from Magda
May your Valentine's Day be a good one....
And to those that find Valentine's Day only brings a reminder of loss.... one of my Birds imbued into to me before dying, to not mourn what I no longer have, instead rejoice in the good memories I have simply because we shared time together.
I have never found such a doing easy to accomplish. Have never stopped trying to fully embrace the advice. And I do find that the closer I do come to pulling away from the loss to remember the joy, the contracted ache loosens. The loss still strong, but instead of being dark becomes cleaner, purer and filled in a way with beauty and light. Then I find weeping is about releasing and not just the pain of loss.
Sincerest good wishes to you from Magda

LauraK, my Wonderful Friend....
ReplyDeleteat this moment this is still a site being built... you are in on the construction... and honoured I am too having you grace the happening.
Appreciate you immensely Laura K.
I agree. Too much commercialism surrounds different considered festive type days. If there is really something special about a day, it can get lost in the ads suggesting the more you spend the better you make the day be.
I'd hoped my Valentine's Day read would be interesting. Glad it is.
With appreciation from Magda
