A Journey With Billbergia pyramidalis - Pt 1 and Today's Flowers

Welcome To Part 1 Of  My Journey With
     Some Bromeliads...

Sun 12 Feb 2012
A past Post shared with
'Today's Flowers 181 .

The first day of February 2011 was my intended Posting date for this sharing.... My how quickly plans can change when other events overtake and require priority.
Events around the Earth in general that are not so good keep following each other like waves onto sand.... no sooner has one wave ebbed when the next flows in.... and is exactly what is happening in Australia, Egypt... and I suppose there are other Countries that could add their names to a list of repeated upheavals and unprecedented changes occurring to one's awareness and Historical Records.  Great Changes seem to be in Process for all to adapt to and have the courage to find Inner Balance with.

Whatever intentions I had for February 2011 can happen as they can happen... For the remainder of 2011, to begin with, I will have the courage to be flexible and find my own equilibrium to better manage how I do whatever I do...

This is a Two Part sharing of "Billbergia pyramidalis" - one of the members of the Bromeliad Family.... with thanks to my Neighbour's kindness, these lovely photos were accomplished by my previous 5 megapixel Lg phone, Viewty.  They were done in February 2009, and are just beginning to bloom again.  My Neighbour's Garden is their home.

Do hope you enjoyed seeing them. I find it interesting after having chosen photos to Post, that as excited as I may feel about seeing them here, I can often feel a bit disappointed once they are. Some of these are not quite as nice as they were on my laptop screen... and others I'm delighted by the seeing. Have chosen not to remove any that are not as seemed before here. They are part of the Story Telling being given by these Bromeliads.

The Introductory Welcome Image is From -

All other photos are my own, achieved with my then 5megapixel Lg phone Viewty.

Without going into details of why this is being added at this late stage, I'll simply add.....
The genus 'Billbergia' was named for Gustaf Johan Billberg, a Swedish botanist, zoologist, and anatomist.

Bromeliad Billbergia pyramidalis Journey continues in Part 2....

    1. LAURA my wonderful Friend,
Late I am with this response, but no less grand to discover I have another moment presented to communicate with you.

I can only imagine how awful you felt when you experienced the welts, then realising the Bromeliads were the cause would have been disappointing I'm sure. But at least you can still view them... albeit from a distance.
At least photos are safe... hopefully.

Yes they are colourful. I was delighted finding there are so many different creative varieties and colours when I researched.

Glad you enjoyed the photos, I have in seeing them again too. xxx

I too didn't know they were a Bromeliad, but one of the joys I experience with Blogging is the discoveries.
Gives more meaning for me with my photos and also a record of their Story when I Post...
I find the the process fun.

Yes they are vibrant, the Neighbour's yard always looks wonderful when they bloom..
It is nearly time for them to begin emerging again too.

  4. Hopefully you haven't received my responses again. Apologies if does happen. I've changed my Comment form to the Embedded version. I like the option to directly reply to someone who has left their input, feels more personal. Then me being me, is now working my way through my Posts to re-place my responses into the Reply section. So some copying, pasting and deleting is happening.
