Twilight Rainbow and Skywatch Friday

Hello and Welcome
       To My Unexpected Journey
                  With A Rainbow
                         Visiting Reader,

This is my first contribution (9 Sept 2011) with SkyWatch Friday
Even though Rainbow's Story goes back to Nov 2010

I did not expect to be returning this soon, yet living provides one with unexpected opportunities. This is one of those happenings that seems very right in being shared.

This event I saw as a farewell to November for 2010, and hopefully a positive sign.
I have found it is rare to see such a perfect semi-circle which in its circle's fullness, to my thinking, would be surrounding the entire Earth for all to experience.
This moment for me occurred Sunday 28th November 2010 when I endeavoured to see if my Vivaz phone could record the way the sunset's glow was creating a golden light show in amid the trees and foliage. (That attempt was not overly successful when viewed on my computer's screen). I had turned from the trees and saw on the Eastern Sky the Rainbow's giving. What ever else Vivaz did not succeed with on that occasion, it very much did with the Rainbow. A beautiful giving from both.
I decided to go for a Journey and explore meanings for a Rainbow - if you would also, I have included some of my findings with this sharing, simply......

~Have a beautiful Pears Cyclopaedia dated 1955-56 (younger than me, but as weathered), this is in general what is given in relation to Rainbows.... a beautiful colour effect visible to observer with back to sun and facing a rain shower. (There was no rain shower, just one of those plain sunsets creating a golden light show through the trees, with little happening in the sky, yet an earthly stillness felt as well as heard).
Rainbows are created from refraction and reflection of Sunlight in minute water-droplets in the air. From up high it would be possible to see a Rainbow as a complete circle, but from ground level can be seen as an arc or semi-circle. When Sun is just on the horizon, the semi-circle occurs. Higher the Sun is in the sky, smaller is the Rainbow's arc.
~My Shapeshifter tarot book (c.1998) by Conway, Knight, and Hunt, indicate that Rainbows represent positive action and wisdom combined with spiritual energy to allow good things into life.
~Another input on Rainbows am including is from Animal Dreaming (c2007) by Scott Alexander King, who mentions the Rainbow Serpent. A primary Ancestor to many Of Australia's Indigenous People, in particular the Northern Regions. The Rainbow Serpent shaped the land when time was new. Then when tired of the doing found a waterhole and sank into its depths. After a rainstorm, the Rainbow Serpent's body could be seen arching up from the waterhole, up over the trees and the plains, through the clouds and down into another waterhole. Rainbow Serpent, the mightiest of the Dreamtime beings. A teacher spirit, thought of and remembered with deep respect.
~The Osho Zen Tarot (c1994) by various people, chose the Rainbow for its full spectrum of possibilities to represent the Earth Element, the practical, material side of life. With the Rainbow bridging earth and sky, it also bridges matter and spirit. Therefore a reminder that in reality there is no separation between them, only a continuum of one total energy. Heaven not some remote place elsewhere, but the reality wanting to be discovered and experienced right here on Earth.
~Then in the The Sacred Path Workbook (c1991) by Jamie Sams, is the idea of a Whirling Rainbow to unify one's self with into being interactively harmonious with one's self, one's surroundings, the Earth and its inhabitants.
~I'll include the elusive Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow guarded by a Leprechaun too. No wonder it's so hard to find or even reach. One's timing and intuition would need be very precise, or fortuitously fortunate to be exactly where the Rainbow's circle began dissipating. Good luck with that one!
~Best not omit that the Rainbow was also given to Noah after The Flood as a reminder, whenever appeared, that never again would flooding be the path chosen to cleanse the Earth of wrongness.

~I have almost reached the limit of my resources. This last find was new to me, and a lovely discovering from The Reader's Digest Great Encyclopaedic Dictionary of 1962 -65 I still have. I learned the Moon also gives Rainbows. Though rarely seen, is formed by the Moon's rays, and known as a Lunar Rainbow. Something worth watching for I feel.

http://skyley.blogspot.com/
Kel from - http://xfacta.blogspot.com/ has been part of the inspiration for me being adventurous and having a go.
I love the Sky's Artwork. I Collect images of Clouds, Sunsets, Sunrises, so thought, well maybe my Collections of the Sky's Artwork I Post on my Blog might be enjoyed by others who also love the variety of Visual Beauty the Sky gives.
To connect to SkyWatch Friday, simply click on the image on my Side-bar, to find your self transported to see thumbnail images of the Sky to click on to find your self Journeying to Sites from around the World sharing images of their experiences with Earth's beautiful Sky.
Maybe you too have images you love of the Sky's Artwork on your Blog or Web Album to contribute to share, it's quite simple to do, and SkyWatch Friday clearly explains how.

Until my next giving...
Good wishes from Magda

    1. LAURA,
Between my First Visit to your Wondrous Place in Blogland, and your First Visit to my Adventure with Blogging, in what seems way back in time, even though only December 2010, we have certainly travelled some distance between then and now (June 2011) in discovering each other, our Blogs, and best of all... in building a mutual Friendship filled with affection toward each other.

I'm rather glad I have taken so long to return to this moment to respond to your Visit.
Now this response is so more filled with emotion. No words would truly describe how truly honoured I feel in having met you. Not only is your Blog a beautiful place to Visit and Wander about in, but you are your self a Person I feel a constantly growing appreciation of.

Thank you Laura for becoming and for being a truly Unique Special Friend I am privileged in having the Pleasure of knowing just a little more of whenever we share communication.

Oh, thanks for adopting my Blog to Follow Laura. Glad you like the feel of my Space in Blogland, and will visit again.

I rather love Rainbows.. and I agree, my 'Vivaz' phone, did a beautiful rendition. I wonder what a Lunar Rainbow would be like to see too... maybe all the Faeries and Elves see such things with ease. I hope we will also.

Being a response in this time and not then time...
hugs filled with appreciation and friendship to you Laura, from Magda

    BLESSED BE THE SKY

    Cloudy, clear,
    Bright or drear—
    Blessed be the sky!

    Sun and star,
    Near or far—
    Blessed be the sky!

    Rain or snow,
    Sunset glow—
    Blessed be the sky!

    Wind or calm,
    Healing balm—
    Blessed be the sky!

    1. Thank you MAGICAL MYSTICAL TEACHER..
and yes... that Rainbow was extraordinarily brilliant on that afternoon... and I have brought that out by sharpening and adding contrast in my Windows photo edit area.
Vivaz's photos are very alive while in the phone, but often emerge pale once on my computer... Usually just a tad of depth and sharpening brings out what was there.
Though sometimes I also let the happening be stronger when the doing also reveals other aspects that otherwise would not be seen.

Photos for me are as much a Work of Art as they are a way of recording events as they occur.
I hope you aren't offended, and I appreciate your Visit, your input, and your poem I can now enjoy personally.
Good wishes to you from Magda

  8. Well here I was updating my Twilight Rainbow to acknowledge and record it being my 1st contribution with SkyWatch and thank Kel for the inspiration when I previewed it and discovered the extra words on the bottom. I felt confused at first... then I realised...

Am so truly awed... I did not expect anything... there are hundreds of amazing sky images, and I'd only shortly before included my Rainbow...
I am becoming too awed for coherent words...
What an experience me and Rainbow are having... I'm flabbergasted...

Hopefully no one receives my responses again. Apologies if does happen. I've changed my Comment form to the Embedded version. I like the option to directly reply to someone who has left their input. Then me being me, is now working my way through my Posts to re-place my responses into the Reply section. So some copying, pasting and deleting is happening.
